kpix 5's napa valley continues our coverage from the troubled spot in west oakland. don. >> reporter: allen, as we all know by now, a troubled day for bart any day of the week is always a troubled day for everybody else who is on the freeways or in boats or buses or wherever they happen to be. this problem for bart began at 2:35 this morning. they had identified and fixed it by 9:00 but this evening the problem lingers on. here's the trouble spot of the down slope of the bart tracks on the oakland side as they drop into the transbay tube. early today, a heavy maintenance vehicle was moving down these tracks and lost control. >> it rear-ended another vehicle and the two vehicles moved down the track for a distance damaging the third rail and some of the insulators. >> reporter: that pulled the plug on 1,000 watts of power for nearly 300 feet stopping, slowing and backing up trains almost everywhere on the system. >> it was long, hot and frustrating. the ac wasn't working on the train and it was totally packed. >> reporter: after failing to get on packed trains, samant
